Google Earth

These were the criteria for selection this site:
Wind Speed: The local region gets from Class 3-5 wind speeds which allows us to produce enough power to meet the demands of customers and make a profit.

Ornithology: It does not interfere with any major routes of migration.

Noise: The distance to local community will not be effected.

Shadow Flicker: The distance to local community will not be effected.

Shipping Impact: It does not impact any major shipping lines.

Landscape and visual impact: The location is away from the Coastline and 25 miles from the nearest township which will not impact to the community.

This site was best due to the location to Major cities around Michigan. This would allow us to produce energy constantly with the large amount of wind and deliver it to customers without large support cost to the infrastructure of the region.

Week 10 Rainfall

This was the best map I have done in AI. The rest of them I did not like. The projects have not been hard I just don't like AI.

Week 9 Flow Map

This not my favorite exercise. It was a great way to develope and show data. I just not a fan of AI.

Week 8 Dot Map

This was a long and clicky module. It was a good way to review data. The counties made it a difficult with the large text. Also Union and Bradford were missing. They are the two counties near Duval.

Week 7

Once I understood the requirements, this was an easy map to develop. It just took me to much time to understand AI. I am not a fan of design programs. Just not an arts student.

Week 6 Map 2

Week 6 Map 1

Module 4

This Module was interesting. They only problems were 1. no end point noted in the text, 2. several problems with the ARCGIS changing data sets, 3. slow working with the program in the lab. I enjoyed the Module with minor issues.

Week 4 Typography

This was a very interesting project. It was very difficult to work with a new display program. I was not used to adobe illustrator. More information about the possible programs is a great way to develop our skills. Next time it would be great to get more instructions on the different programs.

Moduel 3: Assignment 2

I thought this was the best way to display the percentage of Blacks in the county. You start with a smaller percentage in the outer area of the county with a increased percentage in the center of the county.

Moduel 3: Assignment 1

This was a great way to divide the information in several different ways.

Good Maps

This map shows the ability to show a large amount of information with little show. It does not take a colorful display flashing icons to pass along information. It shows the ability to show the projects completed and projects underway.

Bad Maps

This map show putting data on a map does not mean it helps pass along information. If all you need is names just us a list of places. Not just put stuff on a map. Can anyone tell me what they want to get out of this map?
